Psg is like a 12 hour drive though
still waaaaaaaaay closer than Las Palmas or Tenerife though
in any case, iirc, UEFA regulation does not allow teams to play in leagues from outside of their country unless:
-their country didn't already have their own league, and the clubs from that country had been playing in a foreign league previous to the creation of this new league (like when the welsh premier league was created and welsh clubs were allowed to remain in the english football system if they wanted to)... this exception would allow Barça to choose between a catalan league and La Liga (however they wouldn't really have the choice to play in La Liga since spanish legislation doesn't allow it)
-their country doesn't have a league of its own because the country doesn't have the minimum of 8 teams registered in their FA (like Monaco playing in Ligue 1 because of this, or several clubs from Liechtenstein playing in Switzerland)... wouldn't be the case as there are hundreds of catalan teams
-the club would financially struggle to pay travel costs if they played in their country's league (basicly applies to amateur clubs from towns located on the borders between countries)... obviously not Barça's case
so, if catalonia were to split from the rest of Spain, the only thing that could prevent Barça from ending up playing in a catalan league would be a change in spanish laws
I'm almost certain those are the only 3 cases. I went to a series of conferences on UEFA and FIFA regulations, and I remember about this. However that was like 8 years ago, so it might have changed, but it doesn't seem likely
independence won't happen anyway though
