Well, lets have a look at the statistics:

Mario Gomez had 215 appearances in Bundesliga, in which he scored pitiful 127 goals.
Besides that, he scored ridiculous 24 goals in 37 cl-matches.
Recently, he pwned Euros preliminaries single-handedly, and thats why he was benched by c(o)unt Jogi.
Unfortunately he has been injured for 3 months already...the only reason to stop this beast.

Hell yeah, this fucking guy is just overrated

127 goals in 215 appearances is still over 55%

215 appearances in Bundesliga only and its over 59%.
No current player beats this average.
If this guy strikes 100goals per game, people would still come at him

Mandžukić (Pizarro aswell) fitting way better into the system that Bayern plays (comparable with the type of striker Klose <-> Gomez and the national team), thats imo one of the main reason why Bayern are harder to defend this season (lots of different goal scorers) etc.

You dont know how Gomez would perform this year, since he hasnt been playing.
It seems, that players like Ribery and Robben changed their attitude as well.
In addition, its the variety that makes Bayern succesful atm.

I dont know, why people are still talking about Klose. Yes, he was a good player, but he failed in Munich. Yes, he does well in Italy, but thats it.
Gomez is by far the better striker. He was the only reason, why Germany passed group stage at Euros. But all efforts just caused people to give him a kick in the arse.
Kloses performance during Euros was not noteworthy imo.

Gomez is the good old centre forward. There is no need for such a player to catch the ball at halfway line to rush for goals.
Opposing penalty area is his homeland. While Klose tries to run back, Gomez scores twice

A centre forward adds to the game by scoring goals and in the end, statistics are the only thing that matters for a striker.
There are other players to create a game and for them, yes, statistics are of less importance.
Mandzukic fitted in quite well, but its definitely nice to have Gomez up your sleeve
