you said he was the type of coach SAF was, which is blatantly not true.
Comparing types in terms of playing philosophies and how to set up your team tactically during the course of the season, is way different than comparing coaches in term of longevity, continuity and influence in day-to-day operations at clubs.
Considering the similarities in the last 10 years of Sir Alexs tenure as a United manager, and those of Mourinho, where you see them scoring bunch of goals in the first half of the season, only for it to decrease of the final stretch of the season, it's obvious how they both tend to get cautions when it gets into crunch time.
Just look at the numbers of Sir Alexs final season at United - In the first 19 games of the Premier League, United scored an average of 2,52 goals per game, in the final 19 games, they scored a total of 38 goals (2,0 goals per game).
In Mourinhos champion campaign with Chelsea last time around, they scored 2,15 goals per game in the first 19, and then decreased to scoring 1,93 per game in the final stretch.
Lesser numbers, but striking similarities, which exactly was my point of both of them being a bit more "loose" during the first half of the season, only to tighten up and make sure the organization is in place during the final - "crucial" - months, which is what i was trying to put into perspective of how both managers set up their teams in the knock out stages against big oppositions.
