Someone is lying then. Or there is a strange definition of "academy-produced" players.

Either way, I couldn't name more than 3 players on that list. So I wouldn't even remotely compare it to utd's glory days of making teams around the academy.

Mourinho would call up players from Madrid's B team to play Copa games against 3rd level teams, and get a few mintes in the last 2-3 Liga games of the season or last CL groupstage game when it was all decided, and then claim he promotes youth.

He even used some of them as if they were peons, sacrificing them in ways he would believe were beneficial for the team (like when he put Adán ahead of Casillas for one game, then said he had 100% faith in Adán and he would be the starter until the end of season unless Casillas stepped up in training sessions, but as soon as Casillas was injured later that week he quickly ran off to buy Diego López and sent Adán back to the reserves).

He did use Nacho a fair bit though (for his standards, at least). You could argue about Morata aswell, but tbf he only used him because Higuaín was injured and Benzema was the only first team striker left.

Mourinho has many strengths, but using academy products isn't one of them.
