Shaw is going to be ridiculously expensive for a young player, as he is now a senior England international and just because of being English.

I don't see Coutinho as a forward player, I see him as an attacking midfielder.

Mr Mill is right, Lucas is injury prone but I think having henderson and Gerrard in midfield is enough defense. Like I said, a box to box midfielder would be ideal in my opinion.

Konoply...however u spell his name, is in talks with Spurs as we speak. He demands very high wages, and has only played in the ukrainian league. I don't see the point in signing him. What is our obsession in England of signing players that have had 1 good game against our national team?

Aspas and Moses can go.

Bottom line is:
A right back/left back
A midfielder (some say CDM, I say box to box)
A striker that can also play out wide (a good example is walcott or podolski)

If 3 players came to Anfield in the summer that were of a really good quality, in those positions, I would be made up.

Liverpool could probably try to sign some quality players from Madrid and Barça for a decent price.

I can see at least a couple out of Coentrao, Khedira, Di María, Alves, Alexis, etc leaving their clubs this summer.

rather not have barca and real flops or players who are too old to deserve new contracts

depth is absolutely key for liverpool if they make the CL they need at least 4 major new players imo

Gerrard should not be played as cam anymore, he is going to be the new Pirlo.. I'm completely in love with him as that DM and he can potentially play 2-3 maybe 4 more season in that spot as it does not require as much running and his long balls/passing is immense.
I agree that a midfielder should be 1 of the first choices but we still need to keep Lucas, Allen, Henderson. I hope we get Will Hughes as a young prospect and another class midfielder. I don't think players like Gundogan and Vidal are interested in joining Liverpool as it looks right now but i would take them in a heartbeat obviously.
I'd say sell Johnson and get another RB as well as a new LB since we can't count on Enrique to be ready. Montoya can leave this summer for free and would be an awesome player to get.
Luke Shaw will be REALLY expensive but I'd say he is worth almost every price since he is english, young and can play football for more than 10 years on a very high level!

I just hope Suso returns and that both him and Flanagan will continue getting a lot of chances as i see them both as huge prospects. Flanagan is a player like Carragher and Gerrard that potentially can play all his career in Liverpool and i really hope he does, because I'm a huge fan of him!

Out of the ones I listed, Alves is the only one that is getting old.

Chin up son. We are getting the three points. At this point of the season, the players have that extra to play for now and they all know what it means. Especially Gerrard. Now's a better time than any for him to win the league, and he will not let his troops shrug this game up.

steven gerrard is a prime example of a loyal passionate player. a player that fights till the end
allegory of captainship

things that are yet to be said about "captains" like messi (meanwhile he gets mad and demands a raise for neymar is supposed to make more)

Gerrard lives and breathes liverpool. He would happily play for free, whether they were 1st or last place and get relegated hes a prime example of how players should be. His drive has always been the same.
