I said it before and I'll say it again: it's not the first time Fergie fucks up with his selection in cup games. Dunno wether it's overconfidence, or simple misjudgement, but it happens from time to time.

yeah, especially during 2 last seasons

It's just one off, they never play that good and never will again.

you should see them play more often, they are very good and really young. They will most likely play the CL quit often in the following years.

No chance, richer European clubs will dismantle this team soon.

they don't need to sell their players though, since Athletic is almost completely based on it's youth system, they don't need any money. Also, being 90% of their players homegrown, if things go well for them in Athletic, it's unlikely that they will want to force themselves out.

credit where its due tbf, bilbao played good games both home & away,

it only shows that english top clubs have lacked investment and let too many good players leave, atleast united are showing their youth is still coming through and soon they'll be stronger than before imo.

I know, I just can't see every single of them staying rather than willing to move somewhere where they can win titles / trophies.

of course not all of them will stay, but they will still keep making new players. With the money they make out whatever transfers they make (which will be overpriced since they don't need to sell players), they'll invest in improving even more their youth system (which is already one of the best in Europe). So, the team will probably not be able to reach it's full potential because a couple of the players will leave in the next 3-4 years, but I don't think their competition (Sevilla, Valencia, Atletico, etc) will be in a much better position.
