united relied too long on the genius of sir alex and guys like giggs, scholes etc
when they finally realized that giggs is 40 and sir alex is about to retire,....it was already too late

This is pretty much what is going on right now. It is a rough rut to be going through, but Jose wont help united's current problem. The problem doesnt lie with the manager no matter what anyone says about LvG. It is within the personnel that united have playing. The only players on the current squad who should be in a normal united squad is Rooney, Martial, Mata, Shaw, Smalling, De Gea, Schneiderlin (maybe), Schwein would be good in his prime but he is slow now and so is carrick. SAF was so good bc he would make the players that United currently have into these players that looked better than ok. Look at John o shea, wes brown, etc. All mediocre players but at united they overachieved under SAF. LvG cannot do that, Mourinho cannot do that and hasnt done it since Porto.
