man, that kinda sucks for mexico. not only do they have the strongest team in their association, they also have the most passionate fans amongst the three hosts i'd imagine.

i mean, financially and infrastructure wise it kinda makes sense obviously, but as a football romantic i would have liked to see mexico hav a bigger share tbh...

it makes the most sense for the US to have the most games tbh though. american fans are coming on more so it's a good way to boost it even further, and obviously the stadiums throughout the country are superior to most any in the world

that said, i'm pretty shocked it's not like 10 in canada, 20-25 in mexico and like 45-50 in the US.

splitting canada and mexico evenly seems odd to me

To be honoust we joke about it, but I think the Americans can provide for a good and powerful atmosphere. Football is growing in the country aswell.
Also would have preferred more matches in Mexico however.

You forget my friend that Mexico is home in 2 countries. So this doesnt affect us whatsoever. I would rather have all games played in the U.S. since most games will be filled by Mexican fans no matter where the games are held.

I wonder if they are going to still reduce the group games from 3 to 2 like we talked about before. Would definitly suck if they did. Quality>>Quantity.

i wasn't even trying to shittalk americans here. while football obviously isn't their #1 sport i still expect the atmosphere to be pretty good - better than it was in south africa for example and probably better than it will be in russia and qatar. they could probably host a fence painting contest and people would get behind it passionately as long as you wave their flag.
no, what i meant was original football fans who grew up with a passion for the game.

good point. also, from fifa's perspective the usa are of course the most lucrative market in terms of growing the game and revenue (which also played a big role in the bid itself btw).

I know and I agree, I'm just happy it won't be in a place like Qatar. I expect 0 atmosphere during that WC.

As it should be! Only stadium in the world to host 2 World Cup Finals.
