Sad to see Lopetegui leave us after the tournament, he was doing a really nice job so far, and I was looking forward to seeing his work continue towards 2020. Oh well.

I wonder who will coach us next... but it's not the time to think about that! Hope this whole thing doesn't alter the team and coach's concentration. A WC shows up only once every 4 years, so we need to focus 100%.

I really hope it's not Jémez. He has failed miserably in the 3 clubs he has managed after relegating Rayo. I think he's finished tbh... he was very promising 3 years ago, but he has become too arrogant and proud of himself, and now his career has gone to shit. His teams can't defend either. He's like Pepe Mel, but more arrogant.

Setién would be nice, but I don't think he would leave Betis. Same applies to Marcelino.

There's always the possibility of Benítez, but since he doesn't get along with players like Ramos I doubt it would happen. Don't think he'd be a good fit anyway.

Manzano and QSF are both free, but I hope they aren't considered, because they have zero ambition. Karanka is also free, but idk how he'd do... there are probably better options.

Hopefully it's not Celades (U-21 coach). He's utter shit. Or Míchel (aka MARCA's best friend), the way he's always linked to decent jobs despite being a specialist in failure is mind blowing.

I would probably go with Luis Enrique. He's a massive cunt, but like I said when he left Barça, I think his work is underrated (6 trophies in 3 years, just like Guardiola in his first 3 years... with the difference that Guardiola was facing a broken Madrid and Luis Enrique a Madrid capable of winning 3 CLs in a row), and he knows the players and has experience in demanding situations.

And there's always the possibility of an unexperienced former player like Xabi Alonso or whatever.

Lopetegui has been sacked ffs. The new FA president is retarded. Seriously, him signing for Madrid is announced before the WC so that it's out of they way and the national team can work quietly, but that doesn't matter to this idiot. Can't believe he sacked a guy who has done such a great job and has the backing of all of the players, just two days before the first game.

I feel like the WC is already over for us now. We had a decent shot at it, but this fucking idiot Rubiales has ruined it. He wants to show "who is boss" now that he just took charge, and has decided to shit on the team in order for that, as if WCs were played every 4 weeks instead of every 4 years. Unbelievable.

lmfao Spain, you done goofed.

Zark you know he was sacked because him becoming Madrid manager would create all kinds of tampering shit. What if he benches some players NOT from Real? Maybe it would be legit benchings, but the public would call for his head.
Surely you understand this rofl
It was the dumbest fucking decision ever to announce he's signing with Real prior to finishing his job with national team. Entire internet been just waiting for this moment.

“Lopetegui’s been a great coach, but we can’t accept this behaviour. This has been done without our knowledge. The FA cannot be left outside the negotiation of one of its employees and find out just 5 mins before a public announcement.”

Jezus this guy is just butthurt..

Lopetegui's starting XI was crystal clear, with the only question of Aspas starting or not. Nobody that followed the team would realistically be concerned about this.

Madrid can't wait to announce its manager until mid July. Not only because it's impractical for the team, but because it would have been obvious what the reason behind it was, and the press would have began speculating about it throughout the tournament, causing much more distress to the team. Announcing early to get it out of the way was the best thing for all parties, but Rubiales is just upset that one month after he becomes president his manager leaves him.

Yes. Experts and serious fans wouldn't question it. But you must take into account the thousands, even millions of uneducated fans that would call for his head had he not played for example Pique or if he chose to sub Busquets early in favor of Isco or something. I'm not saying he would be wrong in doing this, we should all trust the manager and not sit at home tryna be some experts.
But you cannot deny the fact that this creates a conflict of interest. It would've been the same had the coach signed for Barcelona. If you guys really felt the need to announce him this early, just wait until you guys have played one match rofl. No way they sack him then.
I don't think your Rubiales is upset about losing that guy. Spanish national team could probably fetch whoever they wanted.

Every coach has an assistant coach. I'm sure Spain will prevail and secure a top 4 finish this World Cup. They have all the talent in the world.
