I say we close all borders

It's not about closing boarders, it's about checking them. Someone who has spent years in jail shouldn't be able to move around freely, it's bonkers.

We should build a massive wall around the middle east and let them do whatever.

well, the schengen agreement already contains most of what we need, mobile border controls, border police forces working together, data sharing etc.

but nobody in the mighty eu gives a fuck....

The problem isn't the lack of border control between member states, it's the lack of a european police force like FBI.

And even without it, there's good coordination between the national police offices between member states... it usually only takes a few days to hunt the man down. I don't see why we should worry about open borders right now.
