If it was the "best" league it would have the most viewers.
Best football, probably. Ruined by all the diving and playacting and paying refs etc etc
It's like watching more skillful Mexican teams.
Most viewers doesn't say much tbh. The prem was already far ahead eveyone else in this area even at the turn of the century when they were far behind La Liga and Serie A in terms of competitiveness.
EPL was quicker and more visionary than the rest in terms of attracting foreign viewers and has conquered most markets, making it really hard for other leagues to compete with them there.
La Liga on the other hand is the most watched foreign league in Morrocco and some contries of Latin America... again, because they were the first to expand there, not because they are better than the EPL.
People are given a product at one point, get used to it, and are unlikely to change. They choose their football teams and want to keep watching them regardless of them now having a wider variety of leagues to choose from. I think we can only see notbale changes in football league market dominance in the long or very long term.
