IMO the keeper should not be too hard. Pick the one that truely kept his team alive like for instance David de Gea. Without him United would ahve ended 10th maybe.

De Gea would be my pick aswell, but it's always debatable wether a player that has had a terrible club season should be on the XI or not.

De Bruyne deserved it over James. What a joke.

I will agree with u on this 100%
Why does everyone always pick real/barca players???? Doesn't make sense to me

Because those might be the most popular teams????

what doesn't make sense?

Zark summed it up pretty well.

Well, it's no surprise tbh. This was voted by fans on UEFA's website, so the most popular players/teams will make it regardless of wether there have been better players or not.

That's true. I find it hard to select the defensive roles (keeper included) for this year, because overall impact players have had hasn't been that great in a season where offensive players have excelled.

this

we should deal with the fact that all those fanboys will make certain guys pop up in top XI even when they are in a wheelchair

Sadly that's something like 90% of the sport's fanbase.

It started to become a business when Havelange took over, and then Blatter took it to a whole new level... now it's all about money, and the drama/bullshit that leads to more money. Most "football fans" today don't care about football as much as they care for the circus around topics like "Messi vs CR7", the antics of managers like Mou or LvG, the joke awards like Balon d'Or, etc.

Over the last 25 years, pretty much the only positive side in the evolution of the sport is that it has become popular in countries where it was insignificant.

Alves, Ramos, Iniesta, James

Lol :D

Boateng would fit better than Ramos.

James???

Also: Where is Suarez?

Big question : Who picked this team?
