Nobody is arguing against the fact that England is a mediocre team apart from maybe Pozer. The fact is that we would have been even worse without Rooney's contribution over the years.

He isn't and never has been at the level of Messi and Ronaldo, who possess the ability to drag their team single-handedly to the semis or finals. He needed players around him to perform and give him adequate service, which they didn't.

In my opinion he was one of the only players from our starting 11 that came out of the world cup with any credibility. From the 2 goals we scored, he scored one and assisted the other.

wazza is only like 10 league goals away from breaking SBC's United scoring record. this is the big 1 to go after tbh.
