The top 7 league champs and the CL inner now go to pot 1 (the other pots still go by coefficient)... since Barça won both the league and the CL, the 8th strongest league (Eredivisie) sent their champion to pot 1 (PSV).

The new system follows a good principle, but it's poorly implemented. Something like having pot 1 made up of the top 5 league champions, the champions of CL and EL, and the highest ranked team, would work better imo.

PSV are lucky with their protected status but it means shit since they can easilly draw Madrid and other very strong clubs.
