wtf, everyone loves James, and almost all Madrid fans wanted Özil and Di María to stay when they were sold

Alexis wasn't liked because Camp Nou wants to see technically gifted players

Bale struggles to get appreciation because Bernabeu doesn't like it when players get greedy with the ball (yes, Bale has tons of assists, but he has blown a ton of chances because he refused to pass the ball) and he doesn't help in defensive duties. Robben faced a similar problem.

I'm not justifying this though. I think it's unfair on both Alexis and Bale, I like them both and I think they've done tons for their clubs; I'm just trying to explain why they struggle to get appreciation. It has nothing to do with their nationality; players like Morata, Guti or Arbeloa are all spanish and have had a very difficult relationship with Bernabeu's fans throughout most of their time in Madrid.

I have seen plenty of hate from madrid fans against Özil Di maria and James, but I guess most still supported them.

Isco for example got threathed alot different than mesut Özil imo

I was one of the few who didn't like Özil and was happy to see him leave and get replaced with Isco... but it's not because he's spanish and the other is German, it's because I think he is way better (or at least reliable).

Di María had some problems when he sided with Mourinho when Bernabeu wanted Mourinho out, but so did many other players that also sided with the manager; it was a temporary thing. Just look at the last game Di María played for Madrid (the Supercopa vs Atlético), he got a huge ovation.

James is loved... and Modric is adored.

Appreciate the clarification, and what I meant is, is that spanish players tend to get more credit than foreign players (Bale for example gets targeted pretty easly)

Also I remember this xpgen guy complain about james, di maria, etc etc (I know this isn't a real madrid fan tho)
