Nice thread

One of the greatest DMs of all time (and by far Madrid's best ever). He had a perfect combination of technical and tactical abilities, very few if any DMs have been as skilled as Redondo while being defensively flawless.

He doesn't get the credit he deserves because of his personal problems with several coaches that managed the argentinian national team and stopped him from making a carreer with the albiceleste. That, and the injuries that ruined his later carreer.

He refused to get paid while injured though :hail:

Rendondo the best DM ever

Imagine him in the golatico-side B) (one that much needed a great DM after Makelele)

Or today's Real Madrid tbh

This guy usually doesn't get the credit he deserves. Loved his celebrations after a goal.
Also Elber for Bayern used to be sheer class.

Someone wanted pre-90s player videos. It's hard to find compilations of "forgotten" players that played before the 90s.

I tried to looking for some Masopust or Amarildo compilations (2 players that impressed me while watching 1962 WC classics on Youtube), but I found none. And Masopust is actually still hard to consider forgotten even today.

Found this decent one of Dragan Dzajic though:

He was probably Crvena Zvezda's and Yugoslavia's best ever player. He carried his teams to a Euro final and CL and UCWC semis... it's a shame that players from eastern Europe had pretty much no chance of leaving their countries until the end of their carreers. Dzajic left for France at age 30 where he raped Ligue 1 and carried Bastia to their best ever season (3rd place). He also finished 2nd in the Ballon d'Or I think, only behind George Best in that season where Best had his best year and was simply unstoppable.

I guess he counts as forgotten nowadays... he never really won anything that allowed him to become memorable outside his country unfortunately. Whatever, he's a player I really like, even though I've only been able to find 6-7 full games of him.

Here's another video of him against Real Madrid (I have seen the full match on Youtube in the past, if it's still up it's worth a watch; it's the 1976 or so second leg... of the UCWC quarter finals? I think): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dK2aUr7U1bc

Yeah... just like everyone talks about the new Zidane, Pelé, Maradona, etc; in Spain the press always looks for the new Redondo, he left a huge impact here.

And this one is for you MGS4, since Zidane is your favourite player.

Did you know that Enzo Francescoli was Zidane's favourite player? (that's why he called his son Enzo).

2 things have stopped Enzo from gettin the credit he deserves though:

1. He was one of the best uruguayan players ever, BUT he was unlucky to play during Uruguay's worst years.
2. He spent too much time playing in Argentina, although when he played in France and Italy he still did very well.

Made headlines in a Liverpool shirt, but once he was forced out, he was all but forgotten.

Still holds the record for fastest hat trick in the Premier League (4 minutes and 35 seconds). Sitting at 6th in the all time leading scorers of the EPL as well.
