Instead of developing talents at home, the clubs try to lure players with Turkish passes out of the rest of Europe because they have to field at least 5 Turks in their starting formation.
This has a large effect on the national team, which really is on its downfall for some years now.
Semih Kaya (Gala) is the only current national player, who was raised by and plays for one of the 3 topclubs from Istanbul.
Fenerbahce didn't raise a single own talent who played with real success for the team for 20 (!) years.
The club managements rely way too much on those foreign stars to satisfy their egos.
