Last year I posted stats that showed how spanish teams had been the ones that had been conceding the least goals per games in european comeptitions (even without Barça and Madrid) over the last few season, but I can't find the thread.

Also, La Liga has a lower goal per game rate than the Premier League....

So it's not like spanish teams can't defend... and it's not that the strikers here are bad aside from Messi and Cristiano, because we've already seen many strikers leave La Liga to score similar or larger amounts of goals in other leagues.

Madrid is just miles better than half the teams in the competition. The trident we have upfront would tear pretty much any lower half team from any league. Over the last 4-5 years, only Bayern duing their treble season has managed to outscore Madrid and Barça in the CL.

Indeed, I don't think Cristiano would score as many goals for Man Utd as he scores now for Madrid... but I'm sure he'd score a very similar amount if he had his current Madrid team in England.

And I don't think it's right to compare his older stats to his newer stats because as stated, he was still developing and had a different role in the team.

These figures may be slightly off but per Wikipedia I have ronaldo games for clubs:

196 Manchester united
171 Real Madrid

In those games ronaldo has scored 3 hattricks for Manchester United and 26 hattricks for Real Madrid.

Unless ronaldo gained super powers overnight then you cannot deny these figures show how much of a joke of a league he is playing in . IMO Manchester United ronaldo was better than Real Madrid ronaldo too!

Even if the Wikipedia facts are off I'm sure you get my point.

while i agree that epl > la liga in terms of average team strength i think it's completely ridiculous to draw this conclusion from one player's hattrick stats. his role (position), his standing in the team and also his overall strength as a player have greatly developed (improved) in madrid.
and i'm not blaming united or praising madrid for it, it's just my observation of a very natural and also expectable process of a quality player's career...

but sure, why not use it to bash a foreign league, right? epl arrogance...

Idk why it has to be the league we are comparing. Maybe, just maybe, Ronaldo is just this damn good. No matter what top flight league you play in, 1 player should not been scoring as much as he does, yet he continues to do so.

Unlike a lot of people, I just sit back and enjoy the show. Because it will be a long while until we have another player like Ronnie.

With this being said, Epl > la liga. And idk if Ronnie would be able to net 30+ goals multiple seasons in a row, but i'd assume he'd be close. Going off the basis if he left right now and played with the United current team.

Pretty poor argument as of now tbh. If this was 3-4 years ago when EPL had 3-4 title contenders you could say that, but not anymore.

3 title contenders in la liga right now

Real, Barca and Atletico.

How many title contenders are there in the EPL this season? only two; Chelsea and City. (Liverpool & United are closer to relegation than actually winning the title, Arsenal will come in 4th like they do every year)
How many title contenders are there in the bundesliga? Bayern have already won Bundesliga 2014-15, congratulations in advance to them.

Serie A... I don't watch a lot of Serie A but something tells me it'll be Juventus this year.

La liga: 3
EPL: 2
Bundes: 1
Serie A: 1

Looks like La liga will be the most exciting contest this year ^^

Lol!
But you proved my point in a way, Spain has 3 teams. If you play any other team it's a joke (not to degrade Spanish football atm, but just in comparison)

The competition in England is much closer
