The thread is about how LVG only cares about winning at any cost, regardless of the customs of Man Utd. He is not going to buy English players like SAF would or have any English youth in the starting 11 other than maybe Shaw. Blackett is a stop gap until Blind/Rojo or another CB comes in, same with Jones. Januzaj has been on the bench most games. 3-5-2 is not a Man Utd style of play, even if he changes it soon enough, Di Maria will probably play through the middle and the wingers won't be used like they should at Man Utd.

He got rid of Welbeck who has a place in that squad, got Falcao on loan for 1 season costing the club tremendous amounts...if it was SAF he probably would have spent that money on Barkley or Rodwell and somehow win the league. Evra and Vidic had another season in them, we all know the former left because of Luke Shaw.

Van Gaal put young Thomas Müller and Holger Badstuber into his starting team. If he doesn't use any of the young English players ManU has on their reserve, it probably means they're shit.

As of fact, I always had the impression van Gaal never was keen to have just the big names on his team. He likes to work with players he knows, players from the Dutch league, players which fit his idea of how the team he coaches is supposed to play. If I recall right he sent Lucio away and let Badstuber play because he wanted 1 right- and 1 left-footed CB.

And he is very stubborn about his decisions and his system, which did never look for me like he was all about winning.

I didn't like a lot he did at Bayern, but clearly not for the reasons you name here. Imo you're analyzing him and his work very wrong.

I already knew he had given a lot of players their debuts when I made this thread. Puyol, Xavi, Muller etc. But that doesn't matter if he isn't going to do it in England. Maybe they do suck, but if SAF could get good performances out of them, then the "world class" Van Gaal should be able to aswell. If not, then he shouldn't be given the luxury of having more time than Moyes as manager if this season doesn't work out.
