UEFA Champions League should invite 2 teams from CONCACAF and CONMEBOL so we could show you guys a thing or two :P

Show us what? Like how to never reach a semi final ever? :P

And imagine the CONCACAF Champions League inviting a UEFA team in return, the title would always go to Europe, hahaha.

Would be almost impossible to implement it during the busy seasons, will be way to much travelling involved

true, that's why I'm saying take a place from the Bundesliga, the league is a joke. It's rewarded with 4 places just because of 1 strong team

True. City for example - good enough to win EPL but not good enough to make it out of group stage in CL. Joke of a league really.

1. Have you seen the groups city keeps getting?
2. They advanced to the final 16 last year lost because Demichelis has Down's syndrome and tackles the midget.
3. No

1. Should be no problem if it really was the best team of the best league in the world, should it? ;)
2. Wow, great success - just like Olympiacos, Galatasaray and Schalke! Must be so proud.

olympiacos actually was closer to advancing to the ro16 than city ^_^

seriously... during the last 5 or so years, the epl clubs have cannibalized themselves with ridiculous transfer fees for purely mediocre players (andy carrol any1?^^).
and their league is just too competitive. competing for the epl title requires too much effort to be able to simultaneously handle the later cl knockout stages. i mean... in the epl, even teams like everton or swansea can give you one hell of a fight.

real barca bayern on the other hand play domestic leagues where about 50% of the teams are without a chance even if the big club only gives it 80 or 90%.

so to sum up my point: the epl does no longer create the best clubs in the world exactly BECAUSE it is the best league in the world.

When Serie A was by far the strongest league in the late 80s and the first half of the 90s, the clubs from that country dominated european competitions. When La Liga was the strongest league during the late 90s until 2007 or so, spanish clubs dominated european competitions.

The EPL is the best league atm, but the clubs from that league shouldn't use that as an excuse just because they aren't as succesful on the european stage as they could potentially be.
