sry, but you need to get your facts straight. we have exactly two players not born in germany. both were born in poland (klose & podolski) but they both came to germany as children, grew up here and learned to play football in the german youth system.

those players you imported grew up in a different country, went through THEIR youth system and only began to play for usa when they were already decent or good. imo that's a big difference.
it's not that i blame them, obviously they aren't good enough to play in the country they grew up in so they took the opportunity to play for a different country and participate in a world cup but still...

being an immigrant country (like the usa, germany, australia, france, belgium, switzerland...) is not the same as mass importing talented players... apples and oranges...

learn to read, please. it was a reply to this post:

Keep the trash talk to a minimum, por favor. Focus on the subject at hand, the US national team's dual national players...

Yes, the US has players that were not born in the US, just like France has players born in Algeria and Germany has players born in Turkey/Poland/others. Diego Costa was born in Brazil and is playing for Spain. It happens all the time. In fact, the US is late to the game when it comes to taking advantage of dual national players. We don't take enough advantage of the fact that the US military spread results in little half-Americans all over the world.

I think Bruce Arena is an idiot for speaking out against this idea, citing "no team unity" and "players not fighting for the crest." No matter what, when you put on a national team jersey, there is a different sort of responsibility and camaraderie that you feel with your teammates (not speaking from experience unfortunately). This supersedes the fact that players were born in different countries.

read the bolded parts, it was EXACTLY on topic. now stop hating please or at least learn to do it with arguments not just false accusations...

I think you make a decent point, however the youth systems in America are shit, so why would players want to come here and play early? Let them get their training in another country with good football infrastructure, then have them come play for the mighty Yanks! It's a great plan I think.. and the players still have American blood, so they should feel some sort of pride and responsibility when putting on those ugly French looking shirts.

Having a nationality is not the same as a race bruv. Now stop your mad quest bashing Fender every post he makes. This one made perfect sense and I agree. I might add, where is your pride. It's like Messi, he could have played for Spain, won it all. But he didn't he accepted he would never be world champion but played for his country anyway.

This kid doesnt understand ethnicity. It is quite a shame. I dont believe he understands citizenship either. It is quite a shame that you cant comprehend this simplistic concept. Please let me know if you would like some resources for you to educate yourself, whether it is about American history and how it was founded by Europeans and inhabited, or whether you would like resources on how to become an american citizen, because here is the kicker, anyone can do it. I realize that you are a bitter human being, but please keep your pointless bull shit out of this thread.

I realize people here tend to not grasp these things. But ill put it in aspect for you. My grandmother is from Barnsley which is in Yorkshire, England. Her parents and her immigrated here to the United States in the early 1900s. They had to go through a process at Ellis Island to get american citizenship, once they did receive this, they were then dual-citizens of the country. Now whether she decided to go live in England after, or USA, she would be a citizen of both the United States and England.

Another example. My Grandfather, came to the US from Dusseldorf, Germany aka 100% German, He went through the same process that my grandmother went through and is a citizen of both Germany and USA. If for some crazy reason when he was younger and he played football, he could play for either team.

A final example for your dimwitted mind. We have had multiple players who were born in the US (making them US citizens) and decided NOT to play for their home country and play for their parents country aka Brede Hangeland, having been born in Houston, Texas. Another example of this is Guiseppi Rossi, who was Born in NJ. Nevan Subotic, Lived in Florida for years, played for the US u21 team, only to decide he would want to play for Serbia, his parents country.

I can refer you to more resources if you would like, just let me know kid.
