We have a bit of a weird situation here...
Two weeks ago Real Murcia was relegated due to debts to the third level, and La Liga replaced them with Mirandés (19th placed in last season's Segunda). However, Murcia has been appealing to all kinds of courts in order to get their place back in Segunda... all the sports courts have rejected the appeal, however the ordinary court, which is obviously above the rest, has approved it. This means we might have a Segunda with 23 teams this season (since Mirandés has already officialy been licensed in the second level again).
What will happen will be decided next week, but until then the start of the competition has been delayed one week.
This means I won't be able to see my team before I go back to Madrid <_< (unless a new calendar is made with 23 teams, and the first game for Mallorca is a home game)
But on the bright side it will give our manager Karpin more time to adapt to the team, and the same thing goes for all of the new possible signings.
In the end, it will all go on as if nothing happened. Murcia's relegation due to debts was confirmed, and Mirandés will take their spot in a 22 team league, which will start
tomorrow saturday. The judge accepted La Liga's claims (they said they couldn't relegate Mirandés because they had already licensed them, and that they can't expand the league to more than 22 teams due to a series of agreements they have with the players union, and other groups).
However, La Liga will have to compensate Murcia with 4M€, which is a lot of money in the third level.
Mallorca will play away against newly relegated Valladolid. Both teams are among the top candidates to promote... let's see what happens, I quite like the team we've been building (although not so much the latest signings and the manager though) so I have faith.
