so leno, one of the few guys who performed decently throughout arsenal's weak phase, apparently lost his spot in goal to ramsdale. is that to justify the transfer fee, or is there another reason arteta made that decision? seems somewhat strange to me...

Ramsdale is about as good at stopping shots as leno but far better actually playing the ball out. Leno has looked like some deer in headlights when asked to actually use his feet at times.

That said, still don't think Ramsdale is good enough for a team of Arsenal's pedigree, but at least at his age he's got years to improve.

Leno doesn't seem that interested anymore and is more than likely on his way out. It's a case of getting Ramsdale started I think.
Leno's performances weren't that fantastic anymore either tbh.

He's looked really promising so far, really hope he turns good for us.

can you specify "didn't seem that interested"? sounds incredibly vague to me. did he slack off in practice? did he make any comments?

from the few arsenal highlights i watched, i couldn't see any change in attitude or commitment on the pitch, no egregious mistakes, let alone a series of them, no disconnect with the rest of the team or lack of confidence.

i mean, it's perfectly legitimate to spend a whole lot of money on a younger goalkeeper, even though you have several obviously underperforming positions in your team. it's also legitimate to replace a perfectly fine goalkeeper if you have to justify said transfer fee - and, to be fair, give the young guy a chance to develop. i just think you should at least have the decency to be honest with a guy who did well for you for so long, rather than pretending they deserved to lose their spot by making up some bullshit.

He stated in interviews that he considers moving away and he hasn't been as active vocally in goal as before.
You seem to get me wrong, I love Leno and he has been vital for us the past few seasons, this season and the end of last season however there has been something off about him. After the Martinez/Leno situation where we chose for Leno (I was a supporter of that move, seeing as he had been superb) and then he seemed to slack off a bit.

I feel like he wants to move on aswell, go to a new club and experience something new.
