While Messi winning the golden ball was the most atrocious and outrageous act in world cup history, the others you posted are also incorrect, except Xavi.

Diego Forlan wasn't in the top 10 of 2010 either. Luis Suarez played better for Uruguay and got 8th place.

Castrol index is mathematical and statistical analysis of individual performance, and is not subject to any bias, or sympathies of a player who's constantly failed at world cups, and desperately trying to be mentioned in the same breath as Pele, Maradona and Zidane


Subjectively, people chose Iniesta in 2012 and Forlan in 2010. but objectively Sergio Ramos performed better in both competetions.
