Vossen wasn't allowed to play yesterday even tho he wanted, he's definatly on his way out

Yeah, it doesn't look that the big clubs that were looking at him are actually looking at getting him. They all have other targets.

It would be better for him to come to a club such as Middlesbrough, just due to the fact that he will get a lot more game time, and will gain a lot of reputation in England, if he does well (as we wiill most likely get back to the EPL if he does well).

I still don't think that he will come to us, but there is still some hope, and we are one of the fore-runners for his signature.

We need a striker and 1 or 2 defenders.

The DM position might also be an issue. We are supposedly going to use Joao Victor there, who did well for us in the past but has been unable to play over the last 2 seasons due to injuries (he was one of the 7 players that suffered a long term injury the season we were relegated, and the only one that still hasn't played since). Throughout preseason the coaching staff will decide if he's fit eough to be useful for the team or if we need another DM.

after winning the first leg 1-0 with an average performance last week, a 3-1 win tonight was enough to see the greek site proceed to the next round.

overall it was a better performance by mainz than last week - more fluent, more possession, better combination play but well, the greeks made the goals and that's what ultimately counts.
sure, one of them was irregular (handball assist) and we were a little unlucky too (hit the woodwork twice) but that's not enough to serve as excuse.

what i mentioned last week seems to be true, the team looks quite timid under hjulmand, not much pressing, not so many penetrating runs, at the moment there's nothing that makes me too optimistic about the upcoming season to be honest.
at least we won't have to worry about players being too exhausted due to too many games (you gotta see the bright side, right?) - still, i'm very diappointed and sad about this overall embarrassing performance...

To continue the Vossen story, he finally played a game, a friendly however versus Hasselt. He scored twice and assist one, but is definatly on his way out.

and @ Chile and Edgard, Castillo is doing great so far for Club Brugge this season, just scored a great freekick vs Bronby

Would love to see Vossen in the team, but still really pessimistic about it. Think if it gets done at all, it may be something that waits until the January transfer window. We are in need of a striker though or 2 possibly, but I think we will wait until the Chelsea boys come.

Don't see Vossen and Genk waiting another half a season to sell him, they just want a bid thats around 7 million (Genk board is a bit nuts right now)
The club is going trough a crisis so they are focusing to fix that first

Vossen is out of contract after this season, so I think they are retarded for the way they are handling this xD

Genk isn't exactly out for money since they made so much from Courtois, De Bruyne etc, so they wouldn't even mind giving him away net season

In that case then they would be better off selling him now and using the money to get a better replacement My honest opinion heh
