Messi is the only one who can be depended on.
Neymar is under develop.
Sanchez & Pedro decent but still far from top class level for this kind of a club.

But yes massive changes in defense is needed.

I've already said so before that I don't follow him anymore.
Back at schalke he was rather mediocre, lot of potential but way too inconsistent.
I'm surprised barca wants him (I admit he was MOTM in the final but apart from that I have not heard Anything about him )

He has been gaining consistency over the last 2 years. He stepped up and has been insane this season. He might not be ready to become a regular starter for a top, top club, but imo he's good enough to be in the squad at least.

If he goes to Barça he should be able to get a decent amount of playtime, and I think he'd perform well for them.

Also 20M€ for him is a steal...
