You just have to ignore the things like this man, the same as the people saying "if you vote out you're racist"
I know I didn't get a HNC by being stupid. And I won't be made to feel bad for believing we can do better without being governed by Brussels.

well first of all, this "everyone who is against mainstream=idiot" argument has always been false
just like the attempt to find a correlation between intelligence/job success and political views
sry guys but beating up that poor straw man doesn't make for a good point. no one has made that argument. it's rather sad that i have to explain such basics to you, but finding a statistically significant correlation between intelligence / education and a certain political affiliation / decision is in fact very common.
what it does NOT mean, however, is what you imply here: that supporting that decision / ideology therefore means you're automatically stupid / uneducated. i'm really sorry that you don't seem to understand that. did you never take at least a basic statistics course?
also, how is either option "main stream"? it's pretty much a coin toss...

of course the english fisherman smart or stupid, who can barely catch any fish anymore, because quota has been redistributed to other countries by the eu will more likely vote for brexit
while a bureaucrat will most likely vote in favour of his friends in brussels
while i'm certainly not an expert on the british fishing industy and also won't deny that being a member of the EU most certainly has a negative impact on various areas (as it has for EVERY country belonging to the EU), this seems to be a rather one sided perspective on the whole situation with the EU making for a convenient scapegoat... how about some actual facts?
https://www.opendemocracy.net/can-europe-make-it/griffin-carpenter/eu-common-fisheries-policy-has-helped-not-harmed-uk-fisheries-0i know, i know... facts and nuance can be tedious and it's easier to just call them "idiotic" and "refute" them with obvious straw men but in case you're actually trying to make a point you could at least try to be less biased.

it's based on polls from:
https://yougov.co.uk/news/categories/politics/maybe you like this source better as it does a better job not offending people who don't understand statistics and support brexit:
