We need more top tier defensive players, not forwards. The 163 mil signing bonus for Mbappe could have been spent to buy 2-3 top tier players and we'd be much better off. Get a good LB and CB and games will get much easier.
Keep Joselu who made a pretty solid season last year, so we can play with a typical CF.
Instead we got Mbappe who is not as good in the role of a CF and playing him there is a waste of his potential. Ofc you can bench Vini, so I consider his signing a waste of time and money.

I would like Carlo to say, but according to past in January at best there will be new one - ofc that is my bet and nothing more. Transfer of Mbappe was the only good decision and any other team would sign him if they could.

Bellingham did a good game, perhaps not on attacking but defensively he covered that wing preventing Balde on that side, Vini had the chance to score on the 1st half but he was not accurate on his definition, Mbappe was mostly offside for the entire match, the problem with Madrid is that both Vini and Mbappe want to Score their own goal sometimes, instead of playing as a team.



Madrid could have bought 2-3 players with what they spent on Mbapee but they needed a Forward (perhaps not LW like Mbappe since they had Vini) but Mbappe is top class IMO and letting him go somewhere else would have been a mistake, I believe next season Madrid will need to get another CB (Since Alaba may not come back or is still having problems) as far as RB/LB Davies could be an option but I think there are better options out there like Frimpong for example or Davies. As far as Ancelotti goes, I think he has done a great job so far, it is true that if it wasnt for all the penalties they have gotten this season in La Liga, they could be in worse spot BUT they are still 2nd Place and this is the first game they loose in La Liga, you also have to take into consideration that Courtois was injured (and perhaps that could have also played a difference)

160 mil eur expences and an outrageous weekly wadge just so he doesn't go anywhere else is not a good reqson to sign him.
With the way Vini and Rodrygo were playing we needed a tall, strong CF who can strech his leg and push the ball in, just like Joselu was doing last year. For 60-70 mil there are some pretty good options out there.
As for next year we'll have much bigger problems in the midfield, than in defense. As I said before once Luka retires the magic will dissappear. We have good defensive midfielders, but most of them can't produce a pass like Kroos and Modric use to do. There were roumors about KDB earlier this, but he's 33 already.. wont fix the issue long term. If I can pick a player to join I'd probably take Vitinha from PSG, but with the Mbappe deal done like that I doubt they'll be selling us any players soon.
