He would come for free next season... honestly, I wouldn't have paid more than 60-65M. I know Zizou really wants him, but we probably could have either pressed harder in the negotiations or wait one more year.

I think you'd have got him for quite a bit less if Chelsea weren't staring down a transfer ban. Let's be honest, if Chelsea can't overturn this ban, the chances are without hazard they have no hope of top 4, maybe not even top 6.

I understand that was a huge factor in the price tag, but if Chelsea weren't willing to lower the price further, I personally wuld have preferred to wait 12 months.

To be fair you need him now and he needs to move now. It's a lot for a player with 1 year remaining but he's so good that I see it as a good deal for both sides.

I don't think real want another season like the past one. Especially with zidane back. They have too great of a pedigree to have a few mediocre/ under achieving seasons. If I were a real fan I'd be stoked that hazard was coming now.

tbh I don't really care who comes, until I see the bigger picture. I'm more interested in what the squad will look like over all, and the decisions Zizou will make (and be allowed to make). Signing Hazard is obviously good news, and I'm happy about that, but there are so many things that need to be addressed atm, that this (or any other) signing doesn't mean much on its own.

what's gonna happen to bale now? out of favour, injury prone, nearing 30 and on £600k a week. can't see any clubs going for him, even though a few years ago he was one of the best players in the world

I honestly feel like he will sit out his contract? I mean, why wouldn't he? Stays until his contract ends, then goes off to Qatar or China and is done.

He has 3 years left. I don't think he'll just wait for it to run out while he get no playtime, that's just too much time for any player, even if he's getting paid a lot.

I do think he'll be able to find a club though... but he'll likely leave on a free transfer at this rate.
