But he's no iniesta and no xavi either, he's something like a xabi alonso - except the workrate.
Most importantly, i don't see where he could fit in that Liverpool team which requires workhorses above all.

guardiola looooves him, and i think he'd fit best into a midfield with similar players and a short passing, possession focused kind of team.
Sounds a bit like the role Hendo plays in the team but more technical and less energetic.
We have slowly moved from a heavy metal and counter-attacking style of play (2015-17) to possession based (2018 - current). It's a common misconception that we are not possession based, we consistently outrank other teams in possession, missing out only to Man City in the premier league:
