özil is in bad form atm, no doubt about that - but if you REALLY think he's a player who doesn't have the quality to demand a huge contract, however, if you REALLY don't see what the guy has already done for arsenal and germany, you're clearly in hate mode again.
joke of a football fan...

what has he done for arsenal in big games? went missing AGAIN
no tonight showed that he is not this kind of player, even usually özil friendly sky experts said that you are basically with 10 men in such a game

Huge contracts demand huge performances in huge games, something Özil is unable to do 95% of the time.

we went there before, you chose to ignore the stats and facts and only focused on performances that supported that narrative.
haters gonna hate, özil is an incredible player. that being said though, his unselfish playstyle obviously shines more when he has quality teammates who can play on his level and make the best out of his passing and playmaking so i wouldn't mind if he left arsenal if wenger stays in charge...

you seriously need to work on your comprehension skills if this is what you got out of my post...

özil might be one of the most misunderstood players of our time. he does look somewhat bored and phlegmatic at times, there's no denying that but that's just his character, he's an introvert on and off the pitch but if you look at the distance he covers, the sprints he makes, they tell a different story.

he is certainly NOT a player who chases the ball like a dog (alexis sanchez style), visibly complains about his teammates when they don't play like he wants to (like cronaldo), or slide tackles / throws himself into every ball to signal he's doing everything to win a game of football (like your "warrior" princess vidal) - that much i can agree on, he's certainly not putting on a show to make the fans go "look at him, at least he's trying" - and sure, you could make a point about that making him more "invisible" when games don't go his team's way - but the whole "he's always invisible in big games" narrative is absolute bs and his contributions to a team are invaluable.

i made the effort to dig up some stats in a conversation with zark at a point, just search for it if you're interested, but please don't give me the "he's not shouting and screamind and acting like a psychopath, therefore he's invisible and doesn't care" casual football "fan" bullshit, it's really embarrassing...

Idk who told me, but I have insider info on Arjen Robben. I hear he likes to cut in on his left foot

problem is, literally every team, every defender facing him DOES know this (for about a decade now actually), specifically prepares for it, and still he gets away with it because he's just so uniquely good at it. additionally, he has shown that he still has a 2nd (going baseline, driven pass into box) and a 3rd option (cutting inside and pass to overlapping fullback, as seen before the 2-1) so you can't fully commit to the cut and shoot every single time which makes it even more difficult to defend...

I'd rather take my chances with option 2 or 3 over option 1 lol

fair enough, valid point. that's where the 1st part of my argument comes in, however - he's just so good at it, the ball seems to be glued to his left foot, his ball control is so close, it's just incredibly hard to defend. i'm pretty sure most defenders are thinking the same as you and committing much more to option 1, most likely to an extent that they gather they have it covered. obviously they are mistaken more often than not...

well, there is no denying his skills, which are amazing, but skills alone do not make a complete footballer

kinda funny that you bring up his sprints, distance and the robben goal
that goal got a thorough analysis in television and who was the last guy who could have stopped robben with a 5 meter run? yep, it was özil and i am not saying that it was his fault
no body language, no interest in this scene
again, not his fault but symptomatic for his non existing character on the pitch

a proper player like "princess" vidal, who you seem to dislike ever since he made a single dive vs bremen, would have gone in there and stopped this shit
i am an introvert myself and a fucking amateur and somehow i can manage to have tension in my body for 90 minutes once a week

arsenal and özil have bottled enough big games to support my point, where was he when they were trashed by chelsea in recent years?
i am not saying he needs to make spectacular tackles, but you cant get away with this kind of play when your name is not messi or ronaldo.....thats modern football for ya

with a proper attitude he could be the best player in the world, but the reality is.....this guy will never win the champions league and he can call himself lucky that our boys dragged him through the world cup (i will give him credit for the european cup though, he was quite alright there)

that being said, one sprint behind the defense to have one scene vs neuer in an away game in munich is not enough to demand a 12,13,15 mio a year contract
