when saf bought jones and smalling he was prob thinking that jones will replace vida sticking his head into every aerial challenge. but vida's positioning and timing of a challenge is way too godly. ive only seen vida get raped like twice by torres but jones has been raped far too often.
as for smalling, he must have learned alot under rio. classy and calm. jus dont play him at right back tho.

Smalling can "read the game" so well, he fucked us in the last machester derby.
Jones is currently the best CB we have.
Rojo - positioning is awful and makes fucking stupid tackles everywhere and gives the ball away on simple passes. Could develop nicely as he is physical, but has NO ONE to learn from at the club.
Jones - best cb currently, positioning is decent and gets stuck in but he lacks in size making him useless on set plays, but a good passer of the ball and fits nicely into Van Gaal's system. Will play next year.
Smalling - Loses his head frequently and receives yellows often. positioning has been good, passing lackluster but physical. The other good cb this season.
Evans - piss poor this season, was promising in the past but only just chips the ball forward at every opportunity.
Either way; Van Gaal will attempt to get Mats in the summer. We will switch back to the 3-5-2 with Mats at the center of the defense and he will get our defense into shape.
