When a player instinctively moves his hands or arms to protect his body when suddenly faced with a fast approaching ball, this should not be deemed to be 'deliberately handling the ball" - unless there is subsequent follow-on action to re-direct the ball once contact has been made.

seems like its only german sources that say you cant protect ur face..
