Earlier in the week Barcelona and Spain legend Xavi implied Ronaldo will always play second fiddle to the Catalan’s mercurial number 10, Lionel Messi.
He told Spanish radio: "Only a fool could have played football and not recognise Cristiano is an elite footballer.
"But he has just had bad luck to be around at the same time as Leo.”
Despite Xavi’s admission that Ronaldo is a top player, Real Madrid’s greatest ever goalscorer is clearly unhappy with the Spaniard’s comments.
“The most searched for player on the Internet is me,” Ronaldo said after scoring in Real Madrid’s 5-2 win over Osasuna in La Liga.
“Those that want to appear on front covers or promote things speak about me.
“What does it matter to me what Xavi says, he played in Qatar or I don’t know.
“He’s won everything but he’s never won a Ballon d’Or - I have three.”
