Calm down guys, there's nothing official about this yet. Apparently he didn't pass the medical, but the tweets about him retiring seem to be fake because they aren't on his official twitter. I doubt anyone would quit instantly before undergoing more tests...

I hope there's some sort of a happy end to this story; it's sad for any player to quit under these circumstances.

Lucas Silva has undergone more tests today and he seems fine. He will undergo another test in a week or two, and if he's still fine he will go on loan to Sporting as originally planned.

I can't understand how these bs rumours spread so fast. Do people really believe everything they read on the internet/socialmedia? Is it really that hard to look for news articles in news sites with a proper reputation and check if they have an article about it with valid sources cited?

It was everywhere man... He isn't that famous of a player, so the only few sites/papers writing about him all said that he is finished.

It's wat we call social journalism, one person spreads a fake rumour on purpose to gain media attention and more followers, by making something so tragic they get more clickbait than anything else.

It literally took me 30 seconds to check his twitter and see it was fake. If you're not reading confirmed information on a proper serious site, then be skeptic and try to find out if it's true or not. Otherwise, you are just training yourself to be a gullible sheep with no independent/critical thought.

Yeah, it's really sad. But it's also sad to see people not putting any critical thought into what they read. It's the perfect soil for manipulation to grow on.

It's the sad reality of todays journalism unfortunatly. The internet provides for everyone to be a "known" source..

And when I said "you", I wasn't referring to you personally, but to the people who fell for it and spread it. You know, "if you" as in anyone who. People in general.

Pretty sure 99% of the forum knew what he meant. Unfortunately there's always that 1% that will always be cause for facepalming.
