This, really should have been able to finish his career at Real.

Hierro was treated the same.
And Raul
Good career then club shits on you entirely.

The club didn't handle it properly by not telling him that they wre loking for another keeper, but at the end of the day he left because he prefered starting somewhere else over being on Madrid's bench (understandable considering the Euro is coming up this summer, and the fact that he knew that the press would create a hostile climate dangerous for the club whenever the starting keeper made a mistake, starting a debate on wether he should start or not... just like when Raúl wasn't starting).

Dispite having some moments of brilliance and a solid 13/14 season, he has never fully recovered from that dreadful period under Mourinho unfortunately. If he hadn't been ruined then he probably would still be the team's starting keeper.

Hierro was treated like shit unfortunately, but I can't really agree on the Raúl bit (although, yes, it could have been better). In any case, the farewell to legens has been awful overall ever since Florentino took over. The only one I can remember being a truly proper goodbye under his presidency was Van Nistelrooy, and he wasn't that big of a club legend. Calderón might have made many mistakes as president, but this is something he did way better than Florentino... Beckham, Roberto Carlos, Salgado were all given a proper farewell.

Whenever people talk about legends, he is never said.
Hmm maybe because he isn't one? ;)

Let me guess, you rate Didier over Ruud.

Mate you know I love him (and so did the rest of the fans here), and he did play in decisive role in the 2006-07 Liga title, but at the end of the day he only played here for 3 seasons (spending half the time injured). He got the class farewell he deserved, but it's just weird and sad how other players that spent way more time at the club didn't.

I know, he was injured forever at Madrid. His first season tho, topscorer of la Liga and champions. Instant legend B) I wasn't that serious either untill Chelsea11 came and tried to tell people he isn't a legend.
