ronaldo had a beast season only because di maria was the engine driving them.

He basically single handedly won them the champions league. Brilliant performance in the final, yet penaldo came to score a useless goal and celebrate like he was actually on the pitch for ninety minutes. He wasn't. Pretty pathetic for a ballon d'or.

Well he won the ballon d'or for the year before that ^^

We'll see who wins this years ballon d'or...

I think the top 3 will contain three of these: CR7, Di Maria, Robben and Messi.

Yes Di Maria drove their season, still Ronaldo scored what 17 in UCL tournament? Yes he wasn't the MOTM by anymeans in the final but it wasn't like he wasn't influential throughout.

Unlike everyone's favorite John Terry, the true UCL final hero, here are his contributions:

with di maria and messi i completely agree.

Both had decent seasons with teams and brilliantly led argentina to finals.

Penaldo i would give him nothing simply because he was rude enough to take a spot on the portugal team when injured instead of thinking teamwise and get on bench with him to come on as a last half hour sub to change the game.

He was completely pathetic for portugal.

Messi was lazy, but scored almost every game and single handedly took them out of the group stages.

Robben ? Joke, right ? Injured + inconsistent. Not his year by far. guess you ba yern fan or smth.

at the moment i think di maria will get it. I favor him aswell, started to actually like the rat a bit  Messi can change the odds any time. Penaldo can score 500 won't get it.

anyone is better, literally anyone, that's not the point.

And paulo bento is a shit coach, that's not the point either.

Penaldo was utter shit in the wc.

I`ve said this about messi aswell in semi vs bayern when injured and was completely absent. Should have had the decency to stay on bench.
It applies to ronaldo aswell.

Coming on injured for attention whoring and doing nothing...despicable really.

Buahahah Messi scored in almost every game?

Flopped against Swizterland
flopped against Belgium
flopped against Netherlands
flopped against Germany.

Major floppage.

Had Messi been swapped with a fit Di Maria Argentina would have won the world cup.

He did pretty well against the worst teams in the world cup though. (Iran, and Bosnia; first ever appearance in the world cup for a reason)

CR7 played with a 'career threatening injury' (term coined by the media, take it for what it's worth)' and awful team mates against the WC winners like Germany (among others) and still puts a goal.

super hat trick followed by a hat trick, current top scorer across the major leagues and ended up as the top scorer of the world last season ( top scorer of 31 la liga, 17 UCL goals top scorer (all time record), and x amount in CDR, totaling 50-60 something)

blind messi fanboys

the ballon d'or is strictly between Ronaldo and Di Maria.. whoever goes for ballon d'bronze I have no idea.. Messi, Robben, Bale, Suarez, Hazard are suggestions

Agree with most you said, but vs Belgium he was really good in the first half, second half he was completely invisible however :p
