It has been another horrible and embarrasing week for Mallorca once again (thanks to the owners of course).

I'll explain why, but first I'll give a little backgrond on the situation so, if you care, you guys can understand what's going on.

Mallorca's shares are divided in the following way:

Lorenzo Serra-Ferrer: 49%
Utz Claassen: 45%
Biel Cerdà: 6%

The 3 of them have the following in common: They are power hungry, they can't take any decisions alone since none of them own more than half of the shares, and they all hate each other so much that they constantly try to reject and oppose whatever one of the 3 suggests. So basicly, it's almost impossible for the club to make any decisions, because it's a constant war for power, where one week 2 of the owners reach an agreement and the following one of them betrays his partner and reaches an agreement with the other owner... a real life Game of Thrones.

They also care about themseleves and their position more than they care about the club. Serra Ferrer is the one that cares the most for Mallorca though, since he spent many years working for the club in different roles, but he's still a coward when it comes to making certian decisions, and dispite his "good hearted intentions", he's absolutely useless and is the main reason we were relegated after 16 years in Primera. Cerdà is power hungry as fuck, and uses his ridiculous 6% of the shares to shift between Claasen and Serra in exchange for more power. Claasen is a really shady guy that comes from Germany, where he already caused problems. He made a lot of promises, saying he'd do this and that for Mallorca but he still hasn't done anything... his excuse is always that he can't because the other two owners hate him, which is true, but he over-uses that excuse, and what happened this week (I'll explain in 2 paragraphs) shows that all he cares about is taking over the club.

So... until this season Serra and Cerdà had a somewhat stable agreement. Cerdà with his 6% eventually became president of the club a few months ago while Serra took care of all the football related decisions... however Cerdà became more and more drunk with his power, firing anyone in the club that got in the way, banning speakers in the stadium so the ultras couldn't chant against him, etc. Serra eventually got fed up and dumped him, while trying to reach an agreeement with Claassen, which had been spending 3 years whining that he couldn't help the club dispite his "wonderful ideas and contacts with german companies, managers, footballers, agents and people of the DFB". Claasen doesn't want to reach an agreement because he wants to weaken Serra to the point were he will have to sell his shares to him, and so, over the last few months we've had the situation were the 3 owners constantly try to destroy each other... and the only one getting destroyed is the club.

Ok, so what happened this week was that Serra and Claasen *supposedly* reached an agreement to fire Oltra and replace him with Carreras. However, after they announced this was happening, Claassen said he never gave his consent to this and that he didn't want Carreras as a manager. So we had to wait until yesterday for Serra to reach an agreement with Cerdà in order to finally hire Carreras. Claassen just wanted more chaos for the club so that Serra's position would be weakened. The club celebrated yesterday it's 98th birthday, but there were no official acts because the 3 owners were too busy fighting for their interests, while our former manager Oltra didn't know if he was sacked and our new manager Carreras didn't know if he was hired. Neither of them deserved to go through this.

This is why I always say it's the board's fault that we are in such a bad situation... Serra, Cerdà and Classen, all 3 of them are disgusting and need to go. It doesn't matter who ends up winning this war, the fans don't deserve any of these idiots running the club.

tl;dr: Mallorca has 3 owners that need each other to make decisions, but are unable to work together... they prefer trying to destroy each other than trying to be constructive and bring stability for the club.

I doubt a millionaire would be interested in buying a club that's in the spanish second division... not to mention that it's always a risk to hand over the club to someone who ha no bond to it.

Crowdfunding is a more realistic way out, but it's still far from happening.

None of the owners want to leave either. Claasen won't stop until he takes over. Cerdà demands 7M€ for his little bit of shares dispte the fact he bought his part for less than 1M€, and that was when the club was in Primera and finished 5th. Serra doesn't want to sell to either of them, although he would be willing to sell to someone else if that person also bought Claassen or Cerdà's shares.

It's not looking to good for your boys, isn't this a main problem in Spain atm with alot of clubs tho?

As for OHL, it's the moment of truth, away game vs Lierse (my birthtown B) )
Need nothing less than a win, otherwise play off 3 is for 90% a sealed deal

Still supermad

Why not just park the bus after a 2:0 lead? Or after a 3:2 with 10 minutes left?

No matter how great it was to see the club play on international level again, the knockout still leaves a bitter feeling ...

Yeah... for different reasons. It's often because of a single owner though, rather than more than one owner battling for power.

Mallorca was in wonderful hands from 1978 to 2006. Then Vicente Grande, who was part of the board a the time, bought the club... it was going ok until his business went to shit with the start of the financial crisis, and to try and save them he transfered millions from Mallorca to his companies. This is what financialy ruined the club andcreated a huge debt, when Mallorca had always been debt free and had spent a decade during which the minimum goal was to finish in the top half of La Liga. That is a more similar situation to what many spanish clubs go through.

Grande had to go ofc, and he sold the club to some owners, which also had financial problems and just after a few months of buying the club they sold it to the current owners. The financial department has improved a lot, and we are clearing the debt slowly but surely, but every other area of the club has gone to shit with the current board... and now we have a "Clash of Kings".

I just hope we can promote asap... if there's a way out of this, it's likelier that we'll find in Primera.

Did the sale of players like Giovanni and Pina help the crisis, or did the owners just put it in their pockets?

Trying to dig a bit in the transfer history of Mallorca, you made me curious :P

Gio was sold in order to cover the difference between the income in Primera and Segunda so as to keep paying the debt. Even if he was sold to Villarreal, the fuss wasn't too big because people knew and understood he had to go.

Pina was sold because Serra Ferrer considered the team was alread good enough to stomp its way in Segunda, and he thought it would be a good chance to save up money for the future ( so to answer you question, no, it didn't go to anyone's pocket). Obviously now that Mallorca is in mid table in Segunda, everyone is blaming Serra for selling one of their best and most promising players when the club didn't really need to, and no one forgets the fact he was sold to Villarreal of all clubs.

Hmm I see, from what I could find is that Mallorca does some good business when it comes to transfers tho, except Ogunjimi..

Then again I would really try Ogunjimi in segunda, might actually perform there (he honestly worked hard for OHL, but just couldn't finish)
