that's why he didn't score the goal that gave RM the Copa del Rey?

Sporting was the only team that beat RM in Bernabeu during the last Liga and Barça only won ther 0-1 and suffering a lot; it' not an easy stadium to go to without your two most important players. Still, Madrid should win, but it's unlikely it will be walk in the park

Also why he scored the goal that made madrid advance in CHL, win the supercup and get the points in the league
oh

shit

It doesn't matter what the competition is, a RM-Barça is always a highly important event; did you see how intense the match was? both sides fought for the Copa like it was a matter of life or death. And for once, both RM and Barça played with their strongest players through out most of the competition, they really went for it.

On a side note:

RM fans were craving for it like crazy, they hadn't won it in 18 years and even Casillas said after winning the WC that Copa del Rey was his biggest goal even though there were more important competitions; they were celebrting it more than the 9th CL! RM's record in Copa finals is terrible, they have more defeats than victories, it's not easy to understand what that match meant for Madrid if you don't live here!

dont tell me he wouldnt trade it for the league or chl. oh, and are you insinuating that madrid would've won every meeting if both teams lined up their strongest side?

I'm sure he prefered it over a Liga, doubt he would for CL (unless he knew he'd never win the Copa).

Look how many Liverpool fans would prefer an EPL title over a CL, it kinda works the same way.

I don't get the second part of your comment, you mean all the meetings in Copa del Rey? I think RM did win all the meetings in Copa del Rey they played with their strongest team

you're comparing the epl tittle with copa del rey?
also you should read it as you'd think madrid would have won every meeting with barca if they had fielded their best team

I'm comparing the feeling... really I don't think you'd ever understand if you didn't live here, I know it doesn't make any sense, but it just is that way; when you've been constantly badgered about being "the team that's unable to win a competition Mallorca, Espanyol, Zaragoza or Betis have been winning lately", even though it's the team with most Ligas and CLs, you don't ignore it and it builds up to make you give it a high importance.

And no, I'm not implying RM would have won those matches, its obvious Barça was superior. The main goal of those 4 clasicos for Barça was to win the CL, and for RM to be able to compete with Barcelona and win the Copa. They both got what they wanted.
