Was the atmosphere different because of this?
Well, the stadium was almost full for a game against a much weaker opponent and at a bit of an akward time (during weekends, here in Spain many people finish their lunch close to the time the game started, at 4pm). I guess there are people that bought tickets just for this, even though Bernabeu does have the highest attendance rate in La Liga.
When he scored the fans celebrated it big time, but I didn't see anything that was too much out of the ordinary. A long ovation and chants, but I was surprised I didn't see a tifo ready for him. Perhaps it was because they made one for Zoco, a club icon that was instrumental in the "Madrid ye-ye" (a generation that won many Ligas and a CL during the 60s), who died last week.
