Yeah... they know they are going to sack him sooner or later, they just want to delay it as much as possible. Many sources are claiming that the board is already negotiating with other managers in case they have to sack him next weekend.

No

Although with this board you never know... -_-

The top candidate is Lluis Carreras, who used to play for us for us during the late 90s and has a brief, but good, managerial record (promoting Sabadell to Segunda after many years, and avoiding relegation with 3 games before the end of the season). He was already a candidate before we hired our current manager, but the club decided they wanted a manager with experience in achieveing promotion (which was the logical choice, I would have also hired our current manager).

The other big candidate is club legend Olaizola, who played for us for a decade and was our there during our glory years when we we won the Copa, played the UCWC final, the CL, etc. He doesn't have any managerial experience though, other than working in the club's youth system.

Could be a decent call, altough he has had some trouble with keeping the players calm at Gent

Well, I see him more as a manager for a long, patient project... I'm not sure he's the type of guy you want to hire in order to get underachieving players to react half way through a season.

His best years came when he was managing a team that had little expectations, like when he turned a mediocre Zaragoza into a Cup and UCWC winner, and a Liga title contender; or when he turned Celta into a team that would regularly conntest for EL/CL spots instead of just trying to avoid relegation.

He couldn't get Betis to promote to Primera when they were in Segunda (and that's a big fail because they had a good squad, and Betis should always be in Primera). If we were in Primera, or we at least had more games to go this season, I'd love it if he was our manager... but I'm not 100% sure he's the man for the job given the current circumstances.

Hmm that is true indeed, that's one of the reasons why he failed at Gent. They had high expectations but his team just couldn't perform (with the typical players that can be great, but end up playing bad 90% of the time aka El Ghanassy)

GZ man!

Well looks certain that Boro will be losing Shay Given soon... Will be happening on the day we play Leeds United too who are massive rivals for us! Hope that Steele is back in time!
