i see, wasn't aware he said that - looks like my guess wasn't too bad then though...

and it kinda makes sense, replacing ronaldo with another top player - i just don't see madrid not investing massively into proven quality, and there aren't too many outstanding players even remotely available.

Problem is that eden isn't a natural goal scorer unlike Ronaldo.
He will struggle trying to replace him in that aspect.

tbf they wont ever find a replacement for Ronaldo. But Hazard is no where near Ronaldos ankles as well.

IMO they need a 30 goal a season striker instead of Benzema to provide some of the goals Ronaldo would have scored. Hazard would get you 18-20 goals a season MAX.

Would say eden is a better dribbler tbh

true, they will surely miss that pure scoring prowess, but i don't see ANY player who's able to replace that 100%. the closest that comes to mind is salah, and only if he keeps his current form. don't get me wrong, i like that little guy, but i'm still not 100% sure that he will be able to repeat or even improve last season's magical performances - and both players (hazard & salah) are obviously no aerial threats, unlike ronaldo.

hence madrid will have to find other ways to score, as i'm sure they will. so what they CAN do is sign a top tier proven player who offers a lot of skills, and in that regard i still think going for eden hazard makes a lot of sense from their perspective...

Nobody expects Hazard to replace Cristiano. Cristiano is two players at once... the moment he left we all knew we needed a LW and a prolific striker. I'm just worried about Florentino not signing a striker because that would send his boy Karim to the bench.

Oh I agree, they should go for Eden 100%, in fact any team in the world should.
It's like has been said here, they need to replace Benzema with a mad goal scorer. Someone like Kane perhaps.

I do hope he goes there, I'm just afraid he won't have the backing of the fans when he doesn't bag one in every game.
