I wasn't expecting Kovacic either though, but I guess it's a good thing that Kroos and Modric will be able to rest more... last season Modric's inujries killed us, and Kroos was worn out by march after having played almost every single game

What I'd really like to see signed is a proper striker to compete with Benzema, but I doubt Florentino will allow such a transfer to happen

You saw what happened last season, if Benz goes down you're in trouble, there's an alarming lack in depth in the striker role at Madrid.
