Well madrid has a tendency to treat its legends like shit.

Out of the top of my head...Hierro, Raul...so business as usual.

It's Florentino that handles these things like crap... when Calderón was president, Roberto Carlos had a nice farewell; the same with Sanchís when Lorenzo Sanz was president.

Perez is the devil

Yeah... the problem is that he has changed the rules to run for presidency so that he's pretty much the only possible candidate (you now need to be very, very, very rich and have been a club memeber for a long, long time).

It's the club member's fault for voting yes to that rule though, but they did it in moments of desperation when Barça had just won the treble with Guardiola, the former president had been outed due to corruption, and Florentino had just arrived as the only hope with the signings of Cristiano, Kaka, Benzema and Xabi Alonso.

People thought it was justified back then... it was our Reichstag Fire Decree -_-

So the first game of the season will be away against Sporting. The following week we'll have our first home game, against Betis.

Our first derby against Atlético will be home on 4/10 (game week 7), and the second one will be away on 28/2 on game week 26.

Our first Clásico will be home on 8/11 (game week 12), while the away game will be played on 5/4 (game week 31).

Our last game of the season will be against Deportivo in Riazor... we have a horrible record in that stadium, so let's hope we have already won the title by the last game week!

Welcome back, Kiko Casilla...

but ffs, why? Keylor >>>>>

I hope this means we are going to wait one year for De Gea because I really don't want to see Keylor leaving

I didn't, but I've seen them both many, many times.

Casilla is a decent solid keeper, and 6M€ is a steal which kind of shows a dissapointing lack of ambition on Espanyol's side (the price could very well have been twice the amount), but Keylor has been an amazing keeper for the past 3 years.

He's not world class either, but I'd rather have him over Casilla. Miracle keepers have traditionaly been the ones that work best for Madrid.

just saying, keylor may have been great during the world cup and for levante but that year off didn't do him any good. sure, it was just a test game but he had no authority, no command over his box, no control of his defense and made some really questionable decisions too... the only thing he has going for him atm are his really outstanding reflexes. he's basically ochoa right now...

I watched the game today and he had some pretty awkward moments, that's true, but he also made 1-2 bigger saves which could've resulted in goals.

Right now though, as Zarkadon said, I'd prefer him over Casilla. Let him have his chance and if he doesn't perform, we can still switch to Casilla.

Also there is tons of pressure on him right now, imagine being the replacement for a legend like Iker is...

oh ofc there is loads of pressure on him, you're 100% right there, and i'm not saying hes a bad keeper in general.
and ofc it's only human too . however, he needs to get his confidence back asap... a professional football player has to be able to leave a year like that behind him...

confidence and authority are such huge factors - especially for a goalie. i guess what i'm trying to say here is that if he doesn't get his sh*t together soon it'll be a major weak spot for real, one you can not afford to have playing on such a high level...
