No one really knows what to expect from Sporting this season. They were relegated to Segunda 2 years ago, after having spent a few years in Primera (their natural place is like Mallorca, in the lower end of Primera; although they've played more years in Primera than us, but we've been more succesful with a Copa title and some EL/UCWC/CL appearances). Last season they had a dissapointing mid table finish, and this year they will try to aim for the promotion playoffs (3rd-6th place); they don't seem to have a team that's able to finish in the top 2 spots, but the team should be good enough to at least fight for those playoff spots.
Well, half a season later they are definetely doing well. They are currently 2nd, 2 points behind the first placed and 3 points ahead of us. They've been playing well this season, and it looks like they are one of the biggest candidates for promotion. One of the main reasons behind this is their striker Scepovic, on loan from Partizan, who is currently Segunda's top scorer. This is going to be a hard game, but it's a must-win. Dispite the leader is only 5 points away from us, we need to catch up with them asap.
