Arteta is suffering from the captains curse, every captain we have ends up being really shocking, has injuries or gets sold.

Arteta has always been at best an average player, no where near arsenal quality

You don't seem to recall the 2011 -2012 season where we didn't win a single game without him? He had a vital role for us. Ofcourse he's not good enough anymore but he WAS ussefull to us

useful is not the same thing as good

So you'd rather have a player that is good but doesn't guarantee wins instead of a "useful" player who makes sure when he plays you get results?

Very harsh on Arteta, he has proved himself to be a great player in his first two seasons even taking a cut in wages and he is fine with being a bench player now.

Dont get me wrong hes a handy squad player but to have someone of his quality as the captain of the great arsenal is sickening ... someone like Ramsey (100xarteta) should be captain

Being talented on the pitch =/= being a good captain. Ramsey would not be a good captain since he doesn't have those leading skills (yet). Arteta has the talent to lead a dressing room even if he's not playing. Him and Per are our best captains in the current squad.

I agree arsenal dont have many players who are captain material

However having a joke player like arteta as captain would not motivate the players imo and hasnt worked so far.
