the problem i see is: what if the video challenge says it wasn't offside? count it as goal? as free kick? the defense could always claim they stopped playing because the assistant raised the flag...
or change the rules that no offside is ever called and after the situation is over, the assistant says "i think it was offside" and then this can be challenged? nah...
for offsides it's not good imo. however, for foul calls, penalty situations, hand ball situations i'm in favour of (limited) video challenges...

when its about pelanties, red cards and other serious stuff i am in favor of using the videos
the game is interrupted then anyway and the fourth ref would have something useful to do
i would go even further and make it mandatory for these decisions
there is no harm in that and it also serves to protect the refs
