Can't agree with you here... the game was very balanced; top level show at its finest with two teams playing like mad men.

tbh I wouldn't complain if we had been eliminated because of your 1-2 either (in the sense that I don't think it's fair to blame the ref for such a close call... that's why I said "people would be moaning", because there's always people willing to moan about anything, not saying I would), but I would indeed be upset if that offside had been as blatant as Cristiano's 2-2 goal, so I can understand the frustration

but the point remains that both Ramos' own goal and Cristiano's goal were offside and should have never been allowed... so even if one is worth getting mad with the ref and the other one isn't, you can't say the refs performance benefited one team over the other because both were given an unfair goal in their favour.

in this sense, video technology or a perfect ref wouldn't have changed the outcome... it would have in fact prevented extra time altogether...
