Wouldn't really class him as a failure at Arsenal, he scored alot of important goals but he was just never first XI material.

He was never that amazing at Köln either, he was just better than his team mates and was young so everyone thought he had world class potential in him. His form during the 2006 WC boosted everyone's expectations.

It's sad, a decade ago I thought he'd have a much better carreer.

To be honoust, he did play alot of games for Germany and scored many goals, won the world cup and a few prizes with other clubs (I think?)

So a terrible career is not the case, he done well with the quality that he has IMO.

Well, I meant it more like on an individual performance level. Most players of his level have a worse carreer indeed, it's just that when he was 20 it looked like he had the potential to become a world class player so that's a little dissapointing.

Yeah I agree to that, then again only a few can actually make their potential come true.

Overall I'm happy with Podolski's time at Arsenal, and he remains one of my favourite individuals simply because he always laughs. But his time at Arsenal was coming to an end and for his career sake going somewhere else was good.
