no clue but i highly doubt it. i just hope an wish dortmund will be able to claw their way back into the race for a cl spot because they really don't deserve to be down there.
it's just an unbelievable streak of badluck combined with some horrible individual mistakes...
I've seen a decent amount of matches from them this season and I was amazed by how unlucky they have gotten.. the same thing is happening to Zulte Waregem in Belgium, ofcourse it's a lesser team (obv) but they also have been really unlucky and cant seem to replace Thorgan Hazard.

Celta in 2003-04 spent the whole season season in the relegation zone (and was eventually relegated), and they reached the CL first ko stage. I think they qualified in the 5th game week though.
That same season, Real Sociedad also achieved the same thing, but I'm not sure they were in the relgation zone when they qualified (if they weren't then they were definetely very close to it as they spent the whole season struggling).
You see this happen to the teams in EL more tbh, the new teams in the competition often struggle in the league because of the run of games. But in Dortmunds case this is not the case, they are still playing solid football.
